It\u2019s been created in consultation with disabled people who have a range of access needs, and they have also helped develop and test the app\u2019s features. An <a href=\"https:\/\/passengerassistance.com\/jpn\/blog\/meet-our-accessibility-panel\/?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=howtousePAsite&amp;utm_term=accessibilitypanel\">accessibility panel<\/a> also steered the direction of the app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s not mandatory to use the app to book <a href=\"https:\/\/passengerassistance.com\/jpn\/blog\/assisted-train-travel-in-the-uk\/?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=howtousePAsite&amp;utm_term=blogpost\">assisted train travel in the UK<\/a>, but it has been designed to simplify the process, especially for those with access needs. In order to use the Passenger Assistance app, you need to do the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Download the app<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create an account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set up your profile<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Request assistance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Read on for more details on the above steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Download the Passenger Assistance app<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To use Passenger Assistance you can either download the mobile app or access it through the <a href=\"https:\/\/booking.passengerassistance.com\/?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=howtousePA&amp;utm_term=bookingsite\">web version.<\/a> The app is compatible with screen readers. It\u2019s available for download via the <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/gb\/app\/passenger-assistance\/id1542190496\">App Store<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=uk.co.transreport.pa\">Google Play<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Create an account<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you\u2019ve downloaded the app, you will need to create an account. To do this, follow the steps below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Open the Passenger Assistance app.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select a colour theme.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will now have the choice to view or \u2018skip\u2019 a quick introduction to the app. This introduction briefly explains what you can do with the app.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click \u2018Sign up&#8217; and provide your email and password. Make sure you provide a strong password by making it at least 8 characters long and including a lowercase letter, an uppercase letter, a special character, and at least one number.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review and agree to the terms and conditions and privacy policy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click \u2018Create an account\u2019.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A confirmation email containing a 6-digit verification code will be sent to the email address you provided. Enter the code to verify your email address and create your account.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Set up your profile<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After creating your account, you need to set up your profile. You do not have to provide your phone number, though it can be useful to receive information about your journey.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the access considerations that are applicable to you. A range of mobility impairments, sensory impairments, and non-visible impairments are listed in the text and pictorially. Click the \u2018i\u2019 symbols for more information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide any further information you would like to share about your access needs in the \u2018Other notes\u2019 field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click \u2018Save details\u2019. Your profile is now set up.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Request assistance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that you\u2019ve created an account and set up your profile, it\u2019s easy to book assistance for a train journey. Simply open up the app. You will automatically land on the \u2018New Journeys\u2019 tab. You will be shown a list of trains, and you can select the one you will be travelling on.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review your journey details. Click \u2018Select train\u2019.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select your access needs for the journey. Use the \u2018Other notes\u2019 field to provide any additional information. Then click \u2018Save\u2019.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review the details and click \u2018Confirm details\u2019. You will receive a notification and an email from Passenger Assistance once the request is made. You will also receive a notification and email from Passenger Assistance when the booking is confirmed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If the details of your journey change, or if you need to cancel your booking, you can easily edit or delete your booking on the \u2018New Journeys\u2019 tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>During the journey<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you arrive at your departure station, you can either go to the meeting point provided in your booking, go to a Help Point, or contact station staff to inform them that you have requested assistance for your train journey.
